How to Lose Weight without Lifting a Weight: Lifestyle
- Simple changes, maximum effect
- Learn the real secrets of fitness
My main goal with RYPT was to create fitness that is sustainable, in moderation, enjoyable and also helps improve lives via education without taking short cuts!
Enlightening the actual truth about fitness is far more powerful than copying what other people do and hoping it works: understanding is the real deal breaker.
Lesson 3) Lifestyle
As cliched as it is, simple changes to lifestyle make a huge difference to your health.
Inactivity and excessive food consumption are the main challenges facing this and future generations due to the associated health issues.
It’s only going to get worse as habits change and we become sedentary.
The thing is that changes don’t need to be strenuous, the simpler, the better as they become habits.
Walking is a huge one. Even if it’s taking the stairs or leaving the car further away. Furthermore, it feels great to exercise.
Smoking: cutting down is tough and with professional supper you can get fantastic results. Even looking at replacing the habit with something else is a viable alternative.
Drinking: heavy drinking or sustained moderate drinking may not seem like it’s harmful but the subtle changes in food cravings, energy levels, hydration and to your waist line will add up. It’s incredibly easy to shave a few pints off your weekly total without much difference.
Sugar: most of the time when we crave sugar it is due to emotional wellbeing (whether stressed, tired or angry). It is a quick fix to feel better although not the healthiest. Adopting alternative habits to deal with stress and having a balanced nutritional approach will certainly help.
Caffeine: how many cups of tea / coffee do you drink in an average day? If you think about it, chances are it’s probably higher than you are aware of. Caffeine is great for waking up and I would never advise cutting out what you enjoy. However, excessive consumption will be detrimental to sleep, hydration, overall energy and concentration.
Most of the alternatives come from a wilful change of habits and don’t need to be painful. Becoming aware of the present situation is the start; acknowledge what the problem is and make changes to solve it.
Change starts with action and RYPT is about evaluating your health (this is done online via a comprehensive questionnaire).
