“How to save money on your weekly shop!”
- Top tactics
- * Save money and feel better for less
Afterall, who doesn’t want to save some cash?
There are a few strategies that you can use to save substantial money on your shopping (without sacrificing the quality).
When you have a family to feed it can be incredibly expensive and it’s no wonder that big supermarket chains do so well.
There is sometimes just so much to choose from it becomes a paradox of choice.
Shopping lists will only get you so far as temptation begins to take over. My biggest hint would be to avoid shopping when you’re hungry!
Furthermore, if you shop at the same time every week you will ensure that you have a plan in place to get some consistency. Shopping sporadically and needing to go back every couple of days will soon add up.
One of the most neglected parts of supermarket shopping is which one you choose.
Having shopped in all the major supermarkets, the price difference is startling and sometime you just need to try a new one.
Lately I’ve been going to Aldi and Lidl for shopping. Whilst there are some things I’ll always go to more upmarket supermarkets for, the basics from these places are so much cheaper.
The range is extensive and although maybe not with the perception of other supermarkets, it’s certainly worthy of a trial regardless of what you think.
Even if it’s not your cup of tea, other products can be purchased elsewhere. Mixing and matching is a powerful skill.
You will pay more of a premium for location based shops eg city centre. Yes it may be convenient but you will pay for that. Preparing your meals for the week rather than eating on the go will save you so much money.
We live in a fast paced society but taking time to eat well and prepare is crucial.
I used to do my weekly shopping at a city centre Tesco and in hindsight I could have saved so much money taking the car once a week to somewhere further away.
It just takes discipline and organisation on a consistent basis!
Dedicate your time to what’s important – for me, food shopping and meal preparation are vital but find what works for you.
Eating foods that you enjoy will make changing your lifestyle so much easier! It really doesn’t need to be a chore either.
