How to Start your Health Journey

* Find enjoyment in beginning
* Discovering motivation

Fitness is not always the easiest thing to start. The thought of being uncomfortable, challenging yourself and maybe being outside your comfort zone is not always the most appealing.

There are some techniques that you can use to ensure health and wellbeing success in the longer term.
We all know about the traditional New year resolutionists but quitting on fitness is not a novelty and don't fear, we have all been there.

Personally, when undertaking any fitness challenge, there needs to be underlying motivation and particularly a sole focus. For me it was about beginning running and understanding my fitness level was poor at the time. I began straightforward running and saw results quickly.
It became addictive but don't get me wrong, there are times when it can be a real struggle to motivate yourself and having a primary motivation will help you get there.
From there, it began a career in fitness, teaching classes, marathons and becoming a staple part of my day.

The underlying theme is that you should enjoy it. If it is too much of a challenge or you're not seeing results then there will be no reason to continue. Your method of tracking success should be reliable and not solely about the scales. For instance, using a tape measure or body fat analysis measurements will be the most accurate way to ensure a factual test of your progress.

Once you begin to see progress in one regard of your fitness, it soon becomes easier to change nutrition, lifestyle, sleep patterns and general choices. At the end of the day you don't want to be training hard and then wasting it by making poor choices.
