Nutrition is just one of many aspects of health and fitness that can have great results if done correctly. On the other hand, there are many misconceptions that lead us down the wrong path. Throughout lockdown our fundamental attitude towards food has changed.

Firstly, you need to assess what your goals are. Nutrition can be used to accelerate muscle gain or weight loss. The main crux of weight loss is assessing where you are at. This can be done easily through the MyFitnessPal app, allowing you to see caloric intake, complex nutritional breakdowns made simple and establish what you need to do to hit your target by a set date. This is undoubtedly an invaluable tool and should be downloaded.

One of the most important questions you can ask yourself is WHY are you eating. If it’s because of boredom then you need to curb this instinct at the source. Mindset is the MOST important aspect of eating.
If you’re struggling to lose weight then evaluating the psychology around eating is mandatory. There are simple tricks that you can use, like smaller plates, increasing your protein intake, planning meals will all make a difference.

Planning your meals and when you eat is essential. If you can schedule a proper eating routine around a busy life then you are guaranteed to succeed. The fact is that most people don’t prioritise their own wellbeing and instead rely on ready meals and convenience. The best advice I can give is to spend time focusing on your goals and how to achieve them, afterall you know best how to accommodate a regime into your life.
