Returning to Fitness Faster
> Get back on track
> Painless ways to recover from Festive overload
We all know that this time of year the wheels come off the fitness bandwagon. It’s not an excuse just a fact that it happens. Once a year, what’s the harm (and no I’m not going to criticise in this blog).
As much as it’s easy to criticise a once a year blowout, sometimes it is needed to recovery after a long year (perhaps not the line of fitness professionals).
Getting back into the grove is as important.
It’s about being able to get back on track with your mindset and lifestyle although this is easier said than done. There are a couple of things that you can achieve without too much effort.
> Stay hydrated. Begin to increase water consumption towards two litres per day
> Sleep; begin getting into a routine before bed
> Exercise: short walks to boost energy levels is vital for oxygen circulation.
> Nutrition; supplementing your meals with fruit and vegetables is essential for bodily functions. Working towards increasing these will help your wellbeing.
> Green tea; this has an amazing effect on clearing toxins from the body which is especially useful after heavy drinking.
> Caffeine levels; monitoring these is a good way to restore energy balance. If you consume high levels of these at work, the holidays can be an easy way to reset the immune system.
> Gym; beginning to review your use of the gym membership as the new year approaches will give you an idea of what your goals are; swimming, cardio, weights or classes you can begin to plan your week out.
