The Chimp Paradox by Professor Steve Peters
If you’re looking for a revelatory book about how your mind works, this is it.
“Neuroscience for dummies” would be an appropriate title for this gem. Thoroughly examining the human brain in an easily accessible way will allow you to understand simple things like why fear is prevalent and how to deal with stress.
It will change the way you think about thinking, genuinely. I paid £1000 to go on a mindset course and many of the same principles were in this book.
One of the few books on psychology that I would happily read again.
Headspace by Andy Puddicome
If you want to improve your quality of life, then why not start with the first call; breathing.
This really is a comprehensive guide to meditation but you don’t need to convert your lifestyle. By acknowledging we live busy lives and allocating only ten minutes a day to it, it’s more accessible than other forms of relaxation.
You’d be amazed at what you’ll learn, the practices and the outcomes of it. Regardless of where you’re starting from, managing stress is something that we all need so this will help.
This will help calm the inner thoughts, give you a more positive outlook and help you to focus more.
The Optimum Nutrition Bible by Patrick Holford
If you’re looking tor a resource that will allow you to target your nutrition to your goals, then this is it.
As more of a resource than a novel per se, nutritional planning is much made easier. If you’re suffering ailments or issues then redressing these through diet is much easier than overhauling your life, especially in these busy times in which we live.
The format is simple to follow and should be included in any fitness library.
