Training for Sport
* Improve your performance
* Ensuring a pro approach

Fitness means many different things to individual people. For some, it's about exploring the great outdoors, for others it's about spending time lifting in the gym.
Whatever you choose to do, it's vital to have a plan.

Personally, I have been concentrating more on my golf game lately. This has meant a renewed focus on strength training and flexibility.

Having sacrificed flexibility for strength, it's vital to counterbalance this. The shortening of my swing has increased reliability but hampered by efforts for distance. It's only through visual feedback that I've been able to adapt and alter my training.

A well rounded approach is crucial for most sports. Each session should be tailored for your goal, with time on core stability and stretching.
In recent years, even professional footballers have been concentrating on building muscle and endurance.
For the amateur, this doesn't need to be a concentrated and full time regime but even a basic plan will assist in getting you better results.

Traditionally a strength plan would include compound exercises like bench press, squats, deadlifts, rows etc but without a basic aerobic fitness level, it's not worth prioritising.

Without any doubt, a fitness plan tailored to your sport will certainly help. It is important that you work this in conjunction with training for your own sport.
If that this plan does not need to be anything extraordinary. It could simply be about improving the mechanics of your own sport. For example, if you're training for football performance for your five-a-side, then strength and core stability will improve balance and power overall.
